What is the Homeless Stand-Down? A fair-like event, the Homeless Stand-Down provides services, meals and a warm, safe place for a day, to homeless men, women and children in the Cleveland area. Hundreds of homeless guests and hundreds of volunteers from scores of communities connect with each other at this event, helping to build a more hospitable community. InterAct Cleveland, a coalition of more than fifty Baha'i, Christian, Islamic, Jewish and Unitarian Universalist congregations, campus groups, community organizations and neighborhood residents, is a catalyst for creating interreligious community. Members put faith into action, working for social justice through dialogue, service and advocacy. Practice your own personal foreign policy and have a good time supporting the work of Doctors for Global Health, an international non-profit organization promoting health and human rights through popular education, art, activism, and service. This coffeehouse/friendraiser/fundraiser will kick-off the annual DGH Board meeting, hosted here by Clevelander and DGH Board member Wendy Johnson. Doctors for Global Health has projects in Chiapas, Mexico; Nicaragua; El Salvador; and Uganda and is guided by the principles of solidarity and liberation medicine.
